FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are your office hours?
Monday through Friday 10am-4pm Pacific Time.

Additional evenings and weekend appointments may be available upon request. You can expect to receive a response from me within 1 regular business day.

Do you offer in-person sessions?
Not yet. At this time, all therapy is via a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. This allows you to receive therapy from the comfort of your own home or location of your choosing (as long as it’s private).
If you live in the Greater Seattle area and would like in-home, concierge services, please request a consult to discuss this option.

How long are sessions?
Typically, sessions are between 45-55 minutes.

What should I expect during our consultation?
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call (also called a ‘Discovery Call’) to help potential clients decide whether we are a good fit. I prefer to do these calls via video call, but phone is ok too, if that is your preference.

Finding the right psychologist is so important! This will give you an opportunity to meet me, discuss your treatment needs, discuss how I could help you, and ask any questions you might have. The consultation call is a low-pressure way to decide if you want to move forward with working together.

What can I expect during our first session?
During out first session, we will complete an intake assessment and begin treatment planning. We will discuss your mental health history, symptoms, goals, and begin to get to know one another more deeply. We will begin to collaboratively formulate a treatment plan that combines your goals with your strengths and my knowledge of evidence-based interventions.

How often will we meet?
Initially when we start meeting, we will meet once a week. However, we will continually monitor and evaluate your progress and goals to reassess frequency needs, as appropriate.

How long should I expect to be in therapy?
The length of time an individual is in therapy is determined by severity of symptoms, treatment plan, engagement level in treatment, and your personal preference. We will collaboratively develop a treatment plan and timeline that works best for your needs.

It is important to note that my goal is not for you to be in therapy for the rest of your life (unless that’s what you want). Instead, my goal is for you to learn the skills needed to improve your life… and then in a loving and kind way…to fire me! In my ideal world, I would put myself out of business.

What are your fees?
Private pay individual therapy is $225 per 50-minute session.
I am in network with Aetna(WA/KS) and Regence (WA) insurance and copay fees would be determined by your insurance.
Limited sliding scale rate spots are available on a case-by-case basis. Please alert me if the cost of treatment is a barrier to care.

Group session fees currently range from $50-$65 per group session.

Rates for assessment, consultation, supervision, and other services not listed above can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am currently paneled with Aetna in Washington state and Kansas and Regence in Washington

What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens and sometimes scheduling conflicts arise. I ask that if a cancellation is necessary, please notify me as soon as you know you cannot make it to your appointment. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. In situations in which I receive a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session cost of the missed appointment will be charged. Some exceptions can be made to this policy and will be at the discretion of the provider.

All no-show appointments will be charged the full session rate.

What types of payment do you accept?
